Front and Centre Productions History & Creative Arts Center

In 2009, Front and Centre Productions, Inc. was founded to offer visual and performing arts experiences that would foster creativity for all participants. From 2009 to 2014, the organization survived by the generosity of community groups who offered temporary rehearsal and program space until moving into a leased space on Front Street in Philipsburg, famously known as Pappy Jack's Place, providing a physical home for arts activities. With added programs and increased participation, it became evident that an expansion was necessary. Rather than continue leasing space and offering monthly payments to a landlord, the Board of Directors decided to look for a property to purchase and invest in Front and Centre Productions.

Greg Dufour, owner and President of Sez Sew Stitching at the time, approached Front and Centre Productions about his building located at 105 Elizabeth Street in Osceola Mills. Sez Sew continued to operate from the location but Mr. Dufour was interested in finding a buyer who could utilize the space he was no longer using. After discussion with him and CNB Bank, it was determined to proceed with the purchase of the 1.425 acre property! On Tuesday, February 20, 2018 it became official and the new Front and Centre Productions Creative Arts Center had become a reality. The building was 5 times larger than the previously rented space in Philipsburg, allowing for an expansion of programming and future opportunities. The second garage building has been perfect for set construction and storage for our theatrical productions.

While Front and Centre Productions was not eager to leave downtown Philipsburg, its home for 4 years, it was time to begin a new adventure. Many renovations took place to make the space more suited for visual and performing arts and we continue to make improvements to provide the best experience for. our participants and community!

Please see the slideshow below for photos of the original space and some of the updates that we have completed to this point.
