IGNITE Youth Theatre is proud to present the summer 2023 musical production of The Little Mermaid. The production team includes Stephen and Jennifer Switala (Producers), Justine Washic (Director), Samantha Sanker (Assistant Director), Don Henry (Music Director), Sam Potter (Choreographer), Kim Luzier (Costume Coordinator), and Alison Marshall (Prop Coordinator). This team is geared up and excited to start working with you and your children to put on a mystical performance this summer!

The Little Mermaid Cast Takes Over the Community!

This summer, kids from our cast of the Little Mermaid have been participating in local parades to spread the word about their upcoming performance July 28, 29, and 30 at the Clearfield Area Jr Sr High School! Check out some of the awesome photos. Our float even won Best Appearing Organization Float during the Philipsburg Heritage Days Parade!

What is The Little Mermaid?

The Little Mermaid is a stage musical produced by Disney Theatrical, based on the animated 1989 Disney film The Little Mermaid and the classic story by Hans Christian Andersen. The story is about a mermaid who dreams of the world above the sea and gives up her voice to find true love. The book is by Doug Wright, the music is by Alan Menken, and the lyrics are by Howard Ashman with additional lyrics by Glenn Slater. The show opened on Broadway at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on January 10, 2008 and closed on August 30, 2009 after 50 previews and 685 performances! Additionally, the show has had many regional tours.

Fun Fact: The Little Mermaid was the FIFTH Disney Broadway Show!
