Debi Hirschbiel - Voice Instructor
Coloratura Sporano Debi Hirschbiel most recently performed Maurice Durufle's Requiem at Avery FIsher Hall, Lincoln Center. In December of 2013, Ms. Hirschbiel was invited to sing in the choir of Andrew T. Miller's The Birth of Christ, performed at the St. Stephens Cathedral in Vienna, Austria. Ms. Hirschbiel, 2015 graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Vocal Performance, studied under the direction of Dr. Bonnie Cutsforth-Huber. Ms. Hirschbiel also has a secondary focus in psychology and music therapy. Music plays a tremendous part in Debi's life. She believes music is a universal form of communication and plans to help underprivileged children communicate through her love of music. Debi plans to pursue a Master's Degree in Vocal Performance and plans to attend the American Institute of Musical Studies (AIMS) in 2016. |
Stephen Switala - Voice & Instrumental Instructor
Stephen is a life-long resident of Philipsburg, graduate of Philipsburg-Osceola in 1992. He has a B.S. in Music Education from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Music Education from the Pennsylvania State University. He has been a music educator with the Clearfield Area School District since 1998, teaching elementary and middle school music classes and is currently the Jr. High Band Director. Mr. Switala has been active in the community as a school board director, church worship leader and pianist, and Executive Director of Front and Centre Productions. Stephen is married to his high school sweetheart, Jennifer, and has 3 lovely daughters - Joanna, Emily, and Meredith. |
